FARM SCHOOL

    RioCaracol comes with a License for "Livestock Exploitation- Education Center" (farm school) which allows the reintroduction of sheep, horses, rabbits, pigs, chickens... under extensive management regime. Until September 2022 the farm successfully operated as GRANJA ESCUELA RIORCAL with activities for schools, environmental education institutes and many visits from tourists.

FIREWOOD and AROMATIC AND MEDICINAL PLANTS

    RioCaracol also has a Forest Management Plan authorized by the Aragonese Institute of Environmental Management (INAGA), which allows the exploitation of wood, the collection and cultivation of aromatic, edible and medicinal plants, the marking of hiking trails, beekeeping, and generally a project of  "sustainable and edible forest” and permaculture. The RioCaracol mountain includes strata of gall oak, scrub and a mixture of conifers and hardwoods. Some of the species that are widely found on the farm and which are proposed for collection are Juniperus oxycedrus,  rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis), thyme (Thymus vulgaris) and lavender (Lavandula angustifolia). 

 

    RioCaracol, benefits with its Forest Management Plan of  a Sustainable Forest Management Certificate under the seal PEFC,managed at the regional level of the Autonomous Community of Aragon by Aracert.

BEES

    RioCaracol has received favorable report of the City Council of Santa Cruz de la Serós for the installation of hives on the farm.
