On the 15th August of 2026 the farm burned in the fire called "Peña de Riglos". The firemen (and volunteers?)- Heartfelt Thanks to them!- saved the buildings. The area of the orchard and the trees around the house still seem very green - this will be confirmed at a later stage 

    

RioCaracol is a rustic property at the foot of the Pyrenees, in a beautiful Mediterranean mountain enclave of 25 hectares, with excellent and privileged views, sunny and fog-free, from 750 to 1,074 meters above sea level.

    It is located in the beautiful municipality of Santa Cruz de la Serós -the cradle of the Kingdom of Aragon-, Province of Huesca, and in a unique site, the Protected Natural Area of San Juan de la Peña and Monte Oroel, Zona Zepa (Special Protection Area for Birds) and Zona Lic (Place of Community Interest), in front of and a few kilometers from the Monastery of San Juan de la Peña, and a few meters from the Way of Saint James.

    Is a RUSTIC property, but with the possibility of legalizing the house as a home (according to City Council report) and expanding it by 25%, with the condition that the activity remains that of “Livestock exploitation -Teaching center”  (farm school). There is an architect project for this legalization.

   There is ELECTRICITY with meter, a solar panel for hot water, and WATER which comes from a spring, managed by the town council and with a meter.

    RioCaracol has good access (communal track, 200 meters from the road) and is well connected (two minutes by car from the village of Santa Cruz de la Serós, 15 minutes from Jaca, 1h15 from Pamplona and 1h50 from Zaragoza).

    The property benefits from several spaces (orchard that borders the Orcal stream, 2 dry fields, 24 hectares of woodland and several buildings) and business opportunities  (Livestock farm school license - Teaching Center, permit for wild collection of plants and beekeeping).
